This page explains the text-message (SMS) program operated jointly by Hood View Church and Direct-Me.org in support of the Sabbath School ministry at sabbathschoolapp.com, and how we handle the personal information you share with us when you sign up.

Messages are sent from the joint Sabbath School text-message program operated by Hood View Church and Direct-Me.org. Both organizations are jointly responsible for messages sent under this program.
Typically fewer than 16 messages per month. Frequency may rise modestly in months with multiple events or urgent notifications, up to approximately 20 messages per month.
There is no charge from Hood View Church or Direct-Me.org to receive these messages. Message and data rates may apply depending on your wireless plan; check with your mobile carrier if you are unsure.
Reply STOP to any message to immediately unsubscribe. You will receive a single confirmation message and then no further messages from this program. You may re-subscribe at any time by signing up again at sabbathschoolapp.com.

Wireless carriers — including AT&T, T-Mobile, Verizon, Sprint, U.S. Cellular, Boost, MetroPCS, and other participating carriers — are not liable for delayed, undelivered, or misdirected messages. Message delivery is not guaranteed.
This program is available on most major U.S. wireless carriers. Some carriers may not support certain message types or features.
When you sign up at sabbathschoolapp.com, we collect the information you submit in the signup form, which may include: parent first and last name, parent phone number, parent email address, child first and last name, child birthday, child email address (if provided), home address, favorite color/animal/song (optional), school name (optional), and your SMS consent status and timestamp.
Submitted prayer requests (text or transcribed voice) and your privacy preference for them are also collected through the prayer-request form when you choose to use it.
No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. All other categories of personal information exclude text-messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties.
This disclosure is provided in compliance with the Campaign Registry (TCR) and CTIA Short Code Monitoring Program requirements.
We do not sell or rent your personal information. We share your information only in these limited circumstances:
We retain signup information for as long as your child is active in the Sabbath School program, or until you ask us to remove it. SMS opt-in records and timestamps are retained for at least four (4) years for regulatory and audit purposes, even after you opt out.

Sabbathschoolapp.com is intended for families with children of all ages, and signups inherently include information about minors. The signup form is completed by a parent or legal guardian, who provides consent on behalf of the child.
We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13 without verifiable parental consent. The parent who completes the signup form provides the verifiable consent required under the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA, 15 U.S.C. §§ 6501–6506).
Through the signup form, the following information about a child may be collected: first and last name, birthday, email address (only if a parent chooses to provide one), and optional preferences (favorite color, favorite animal, favorite song, school name).
Children's information is used solely to administer the Sabbath School ministry — assigning the child to the correct grade group, communicating with the parent, and providing age-appropriate program content. We do not target advertising to children. We do not share or sell children's information.
